Sunil Gavaskar reckons that Delhi Capitals will go for Rishabh Pant.

India cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar reckoned that Delhi Capitals (DC) will look to buy ex-Mumbai Indians (MI) wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction. DC have released their captain Rishabh Pant and now the franchise will look to buy a wicketkeeper batter for the upcoming season of cash-rich league.

The IPL 2025 mega auction is scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The timing of the auction coincides with the third and fourth days of the first Test between India and Australia in Perth.

Gavaskar said that Delhi based franchise might be ready to pay 15 to 20 crores for Ishan Kishan considering his batting in the shortest format of the game.

"I feel Delhi will try very hard to get Ishan Kishan. They might be ready to pay 15 to 20 crores for Ishan Kishan because we have seen that Ishan Kishan has the ability to change the complexion of the game in T20 cricket because of the way he bats" Gavaskar said on Star Sports.

He further said that as DC released Rishabh Pant they need a wicketkeeper batter as well since Punjab is going into the auction with largest purse they will also look to get Ishan.

"With Delhi not retaining Rishabh Pant, they will look for a wicketkeeper-batter as well. Punjab has possibly got the biggest purse so far when they go into the auction. So Punjab will also make a play for Ishan Kishan," Gavaskar observed.
