Yashasvi Jaiswal has sought NOC to leave Mumbai and play for Goa.

Mumbai opener Yashasvi Jaiswal set to switch his Ranji Team, and he reportedly wrote an email to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) seeking a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to change his cricket state team from Mumbai to Goa from next season onwards.

As per IndianExpress, the Goa state team has offered him to captain the team in the upcoming edition of the Ranji Trophy 2025. The southpaw also added that he will always be indebted to Mumbai cricket and the city.

“It was a very tough decision for me. Whatever I am today is because of Mumbai. The city has made me who I am, and all my life, I will be indebted to the MCA,” Jaiswal told The Indian Express.

“Goa has thrown me a new opportunity and it has offered me a leadership role. My first goal will be to do well for India and whenever I’m not on national duty, I will be playing for Goa and try to make them go deep into the tournament. This was an (important) opportunity which came my way and I just took it” Jaiswal added.

Jaiswal has played 36 FC matches where he scored 3712 runs with a highest score of 265 runs. He last featured for Mumbai after the BCCI had issued a diktat for players to play domestic games in case of no international fixtures. He represented Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir, where he scored 4 and 26.

Earlier this year, Jaiswal was left out of India's Champions Trophy 2025 squad and included in the list of non-travelling substitutes. He was again drafted into the Mumbai Ranji squad ahead of their semifinal clash with Vidarbha on February 17. However, the left handed batter opted out of the match on the eve of the game after he cited pain in his ankle.
