The California Knights celebrated an emphatic victory over the Texas Chargers by 48 runs at the scenic Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida on August 19, and the win marked their maiden victory in the US Masters T10 League, reflecting their prowess and hinting at a promising tournament journey.
Leading the line with the bat was former South African all-rounder and former Kolkata Knight Riders batter Jacques Kallis. Demonstrating vintage finesse, Kallis exhibited a masterclass, proving that age holds no bar for talent. The 48-year-old crafted an elegant and unbeaten 31-ball 64, treating spectators to some awe-inspiring strokes against the Chargers' bowlers.
Choosing to bat first, the Knights set up a daunting score of 158/1, setting a mountainous challenge for the Texas Chargers. Despite their valiant efforts, the Chargers could only muster 110/8 in their quota of 10 overs.

The start, however, wasn’t ideal for the Knights. Opening batter Aaron Finch faced an early departure in the initial over, falling prey to Fidel Edwards without troubling the scorers.
Nonetheless, the setback didn't deter Kallis, who took on Sohail Tanvir in the subsequent over, striking a series of boundaries. The Knights' momentum amplified further when Milind Kumar unleashed a flurry of maximums and boundaries against Pragyan Ojha in the fourth over. With Kallis and Kumar at the crease, the score skyrocketed. Their stand was embellished with 15 boundaries and 9 towering sixes, with Kumar registering an explosive 76* off just 28 balls.
In response, the Texas Chargers commenced with a jolt as Mohammad Hafeez was dispatched by Peter Siddle for a mere two runs. Yet, Mukhtar Ahmed's onslaught, which included a sequence of splendid sixes, uplifted the Chargers, driving their score to a promising 54/1 in three overs.
The Knights, however, had different plans. Spearheaded by Ashley Nurse's crucial breakthroughs in the fourth over, including the scalps of Ben Dunk and Ahmed, the Knights tightened their grip on the match. With consistent wicket-taking spells, they stifled the Chargers' batting line-up, sealing a memorable win in the end.
