India batter KL Rahul got out after scoring just 26 runs during the first inning of the first Test against Australia in Perth. The 32-year-old was looking in good touch and was looking for a partnership along with Rishabh Pant before he got out because of a controversial decision. During 23rd over, the Bengaluru-born cricketer was beaten by a short-pitch delivery but even upon a strong appeal from the Australian cricketers, the on-field umpire ruled him not-out.

The Australian players were seen discussing the possibility of using their second DRS, although Mitchell Starc appeared uncertain about the decision. Despite this, captain Pat Cummins chose to proceed with the review. Notably, the Snicko meter showed a spike as the ball passed near the bat. However, the third umpire only examined the footage from the angle behind the stumps, without exploring other perspectives.

The situation remained unclear, as Rahul was confident that the ball had not touched his bat. Instead, the sound detected on the Snicko appeared to come from his bat hitting his pads. Despite this, the third umpire did not request additional camera angles and overturned the on-field umpire's decision, even though the evidence was inconclusive. Frustrated by the call, Rahul made his way back to the pavilion. His dismissal left India struggling at 47/4.

Cricket fraternity started reacting to KL Rahul's controversial dismissal in Perth.

Earlier, India's top order failed to perform as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal got out on ducks and star batter Virat Kohli just scored five runs.
