Arsenal's Premier League title hopes took a severe blow on Saturday as they fell to a 1-2 defeat against Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium.

Despite dominating large spells of the match, the Gunners were undone by clinical finishing from the visitors, with goals from Junior Kroupi and Alex Scott securing a famous win for the Cherries.

Viktor Gyökeres equalized from the penalty spot in the 35th minute after Bournemouth had taken a surprise 17th-minute lead through Kroupi. However, Arsenal failed to capitalize on their pressure in the second half, and Scott struck in the 74th minute to hand Mikel Arteta's side a damaging loss in Matchweek 32.

The result leaves Arsenal vulnerable at the top of the table as the season enters its decisive phase. It was not just a loss for Mikel Arteta’s side, but it also opened the title race. They are now nine points leading over the title chasers, Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola's side has played two games fewer and can narrow the gap if they beat Chelsea on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Blues also have the incentive of hosting Arsenal next weekend.
