Bayern Munich has an advantage over Real Madrid ahead of their return leg at the Allianz Arena. However, looking at the comeback records of the 15-time UEFA Champions League, Jamal Musiala was asked about the qualification chances against Alvaro Arbeloa’s side.

The midfielder has declared his side will advance past the opponents in the quarter-finals, expressing unwavering optimism as the German champions prepare to defend a 2-1 aggregate lead in Tuesday's second leg at home. He said:

“Optimism, always. So yes, we will”.

The 23-year-old's comments come after Bayern's impressive 2-1 victory in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu on April 7, where Luis Díaz and Harry Kane scored for the visitors before Kylian Mbappé pulled one back for the hosts. However, it was not enough for the Spanish giants to escape the defeat.

Meanwhile, Musiala, returning from injury, has shown strong form in recent matches, including a goal and assist in a 5-0 Bundesliga win over St. Pauli. Bayern enter the decisive encounter as favorites at home, where a draw or victory would secure progression to the semi-finals.

The tie revives a storied rivalry, with Real Madrid having eliminated Bayern in their last four Champions League knockout meetings. However, Bayern's current momentum and home advantage at the Allianz Arena could prove decisive against a Madrid side that appeared vulnerable in the opening leg.
