Lionel Messi's Family Friend Reveals Football Legend's Ultimate Plan to Return to FC Barcelona

Lionel Messi's Family friend Yanina Latorre fanned the flames by stating that La Pulga is planning to return to Barcelona following the culmination of his stint with Inter Miami.

“He [Messi] told me that when he finishes here [in Miami], where he is happy, he will return to Barcelona.” When pressed on the possibility of staying longer in Miami, Messi reportedly shut it down, saying: “No, my place is there.”

Messi, 36, took MLS by storm after completing a tumultuous stay with PSG. During the two-stay stay at Miami, he has changed the fortunes of the club, transitioning it from bottom bottom-placed team to a trophy-winning prospect. Moreover, it is the pull of the 8-time Balon d'Or winner which brought players like Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez onboard as well. Considering the stature of Lionel Messi, the club's co-owner Jorge Mas would look to leave no stone unturned in convincing him to sign a new contract and prolong his MLS stay.
