Liverpool's centre-back, Ibrahima Konate has opened up on the struggles faced by the club this season and gave his take on the current circumstances.

Ibrahim Konate opens up on Liverpool's struggles

In an interview with ESPN FC, Konate dropped his analysis of the season and revealed the key reasons behind the struggle of the Reds despite coming after a league triumph in the 2024-25 season.

Konate asserted that the inclusion of several new players and the demise of Diego Jota had a big impact on the season.

"People are going to say we brought in new players, (but) many things happened like we lost (Diogo Jota) when we started the season. What people will have to understand, and this is my point, before we won the league last season, we had just built the team to win the Premier League at that moment. That is part of the success, that is the way to success," said Konate.

He further added saying that Liverpool will surely win more titles in the coming seasons, as the new signings will need time to perform once they feel fully integrated.

"Now that we have brought in new players, of course they are not going to perform straight (away) from the first game. This is what I have said to many players, we just have to be relaxed as this is part of the success. We brought in new players, we will adapt, we will try to work and understand each other all together, and at a point in time, we will win trophies and we will have success," added Konate.
