An English Premier League side has rejected a stunning bid for a star footballer of Chelsea in a shocking move. The club in question is Sunderland, and the player is Granit Xhaka. The Swiss midfielder is understood to be eager for a move back to London to reunite with new Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso, under whom he played successfully at Bayer Leverkusen. Xhaka still has three years remaining on his contract at the Stadium of Light, running until 2029.
