Bayern Munich secured a 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig in the Telekom Cup final at the Allianz Arena, but the result was overshadowed by a worrying incident involving star midfielder Jamal Musiala. What took everyone’s attention was that the player collapsed on the pitch, which raised concerns among the players and the football fraternity.

Why did Jamal Musiala faint during Bayern Munich's friendly vs RB Leipzig?
The 23-year-old Germany international, who had come off the bench and scored Bayern’s third goal in the 81st minute from an assist by new signing Ismael Saibari, collapsed a few minutes later while waiting for play to restart. Temperatures in Munich had soared to around 33-34°C, and Musiala was later reported to have suffered dizziness and circulatory problems linked to the extreme heat.
How is Jamal Musiala doing now?
Club officials, including sporting director Max Eberl, confirmed that initial examinations showed no serious issues and that Musiala was doing well. He will be closely monitored in the coming days. According to Bayern board member Eberl, he told Bild:
“He’s doing well, that’s the most important thing.”
Saibari, making his Bayern debut after a summer transfer from PSV Eindhoven, was the first to notice Musiala looking unsteady. The Moroccan midfielder sprinted over and helped support his teammate as he went down in stages, with Joshua Kimmich also quickly arriving. Bayern’s medical staff, including a doctor, rushed onto the pitch to treat the player.
After several minutes of treatment, medics gave the all-clear. Musiala was able to leave the field on his feet, though appearing dazed, as relieved fans applauded and chanted his name. He is expected to have time to recover ahead of the resumption of club football.
