Tokyo Olympics gold medallist and reigning World Championships silver medallist, Neeraj Chopra on August 23 (Tuesday) announced his recovery from injury and confirmed that he will be competing at the Lausanne Diamond League.

The 24-year-old made the announcement of his comeback on social media. The star Indian athlete will return to action on August 26.

"Feeling strong and ready for Friday. Thanks for the support, everyone. See you in Lausanne! @athletissima," posted said in a Twitter post while sharing a picture of himself.

Chopra, who won the silver medal at the Eugene World Athletics Championships earlier in the year, skipped the ensuing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham due to a groin strain.

The Lausanne Diamond League is going to be a key tournament for Chopra as it is going to be the last event for javelin throwers to qualify for the Diamond League Final in Zurich, which is scheduled to be held on September 7-8.

Chopra has won medals at all the major events but is still chasing an elusive silverware at the Diamond League Final.
