India's shooting contingent got off to a poor start at the Paris Olympics 2024 on July 27. The 12-year-old medal drought continued as Indian pair of Ramita Jindal, Arjun Babuta and Elavenil Valarivan, Sandeep Singh crashed out of 10m air rifle mixed team qualification.
Ramita and Babuta had a combined score of 628.7 and finished sixth. Elavenil and Sandeep were too far behind as they finished with 626.3 points. They were 12th on the list and crashed out of the qualification round.
Babuta got off to a good start in the second relay. She had a sequence of 10.5, 10.6, 106, 10.9 whereas Ramita managed 10.2, 10.7, 10.3, 10.1 but it wasn't enough to get them in the medal round.

The top spot belonged to People's Republic of China. Yuting Huang and Sheng Lihao with 632.2 points bagged the first spot. The top four teams qualified for the medal round. Republic of Korea's Jihyeon Keum, Hajun Park, Kazakhstan's Alexandra LE (631.4), Islam Satpayev and Germany's Anna Janssen (630.8), Maximilian Ulbrich (629.7) made it to the next round.
