The Paris Olympics 2024 are set to begin in less than 24 hours and for the first time in the history of the Olympic Summer Games, the opening ceremony will not be organised in any stadium. France has made different preparations for this and it will be held within the city. The athletes' parade will take place on the Seine River and everyone will sit in their boat and raise the flag of their country. There will be cameras on each boat for a better experience for those fans who are witnessing the action from their homes. There will be 117 athletes representing India in the marquee event where PV Sindhu and Sharath Kamal will be the flag bearer for the nation in the marquee event in Paris.
Approximately 100 boats will carry 10,500 athletes along a 6-kilometer route from Austerlitz Bridge near Jardin des Plantes, passing through Parisian icons like Notre Dame and the Louvre. The event will culminate at Trocadero, where the ceremony is scheduled to unfold. The boats will also pass through a few venues dedicated to the games, including the Esplanade des Invalides and the Grand Palais. The boat ride will conclude opposite the Trocadero. OLYMPICS 2024 will be declared open after lighting the Olympic cauldron.

When is the opening ceremony for the Olympics?
The Olympics opening ceremony will begin at 7:30 PM CEST, which is 11 PM IST on July 26. It is expected to last for over three hours.
