No. According to Shams Charania, Anthony Davis doesn't need any surgery after a second opinion from a doctor. The ESPN journalist tweeted:

“Dallas' Anthony Davis will not require surgery on his injured hand after a second opinion with specialist Dr. Steven Shin in Los Angeles on Tuesday and will be re-evaluated in six weeks, league sources tell ESPN.”

Earlier, it was told that his injury was significant enough to require surgical repair. But a second opinion has now changed everything. The recovery process would have stretched across multiple months following the surgery. Meanwhile, hand ligament injuries typically require extended rehab to regain strength and stability.
