Fans are eagerly waiting for the slugfest between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan in Asia Cup 2022 which is slated to be played on Sunday (August 28).
Meanwhile, during a conversation with ESPNcricinfo, former India star batter Wasim Jaffer has made a huge claim ahead of the 'mother of all clashes' and predicted which team's skipper will be the top-scorer in the Asia Cup 2022.
Jaffer said,"I think Rohit will have more impactful runs. But I feel Babar will make more runs".
India captain Rohit is the second highest run-scorers in the tournament with a total of 883 runs in 26 innings as he is chasing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar for the milestone. If he manages to score 89 more runs against Pakistan on Sunday, he will leapfrog the Master Blaster and achieve the feat of smashing most runs in the Asia Cup.
On the other hand, Pakistan skipper Babar has been in sublime touch with the willow this year. He has played 10 white-ball games (only one T20I) and has registered a fifty-plus in nine of those matches. He has bagged six half-centuries (five in ODIs and one in T20Is) and three centuries. He was also the highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup last year.
Beside this, Jaffer also picked India's starting XI for Sunday’s showdown between India and Pakistan.
Wasim Jaffer suggested one crucial change to India’s playing XI, and it was in the middle order. The batsman, who has won the Ranji Trophy on many occasions, selected batting legend, Virat Kohli, at number three, and skipper Rohit Sharma and vice-captain KL Rahul as the openers.
As for his bowling lineup, it included Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravi Bishnoi, Yuzvendra Chahal, and yorker specialist Arshdeep Singh. Suryakumar Yadav, star all-rounders Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja made up the middle order.
