It is unknown if Devraj would return to his managing responsibilities as the Rohit Sharma-led team plays New Zealand in their Champions Trophy final league match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Depending on the result of Tuesday's semi-final, a decision regarding his return is anticipated.

In their third and last Group A encounter against New Zealand, Team India took to the field, and under duress, Shreyas Iyer scored a cool 79. New Zealand pacer Matt Henry was the main wrecker, taking 5/42 figures to put India behind, but India could only muster 249/9 on the board.

Axar Patel (42 off 61) provided support for Iyer as they put up an important 98-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Following a top-order collapse, Hardik Pandya (45 off 45) made an aggressive late cameo to help India to a decent total.

Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Rohit Sharma all fell cheaply, as India crumbled at 30/3. Glenn Phillips made a spectacular one-handed catch to eliminate Kohli after Henry had removed Gill leg before wicket. Following a strong start, Rohit lost against Will Young. On a slow pitch, Iyer and Axar used measured hitting to offset the early hits.

But when he mishandled a pull shot to Young within the covers, his dreams of a century came to an end. While New Zealand's disciplined bowling, led by Henry and Mitchell Santner, held India in check, KL Rahul, batting at No. 6, showed promise but was dismissed for 23. The team nearly hit the 250-mark thanks to Hardik's strong hitting. Each of the two clubs has already advanced to the semifinals.
