Mohammed Shami has been receiving online abuse for his performance in the historic India-Pakistan clash on October 24 in ICC T20 World Cup 2021. After former and current Indian cricketers came in support from Shami, now Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has urged people to stop the unwarranted hate towards the star fast bowler.

Rizwan posted a tweet with a picture of Shami and wrote, The kind of pressure, struggles & sacrifices a player has to go through for his country & his people is immeasurable. @MdShami11 is a star & indeed of the best bowlers in the world. Please respect your stars. This game should bring people together & not divide 'em”.

The Pakistan opener scored an unbeaten 79 in the record-breaking opening partnership with skipper Babar Azam to chase down 152 with 13 balls to spare. After the run chase, Indian skipper Virat Kohli congratulated Rizwan and hugged him acknowledging his performance in a high-pressure game.
On the other hand, Shami leaked 43 runs from his 3.5 overs. He was hit for a few boundaries in the last over he bowled in the innings.
