Team India is currently in Australia preparing for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 which is scheduled to start from November 22. Rohit Sharma-led side will play five Test match series against Australia to seal their berth for the World Test Championship (WTC) final which will take place next year in England. India needs to register 4-0 win against Australia to seal their spot for the WTC final. 

India senior players like Virat Kohli, R Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja, wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant took the spotlight during the practice session. India's assistant coach Abhishek Nair said that Gambhir has spoken to the senior players of the team like Bumrah, Kohli and R Ashwin. They have been asked to share their experience of Australia with the young players. The players who have come on this tour for the first time have been told that the Australia tour can change their lives.

Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 schedule

The opening Test match of the series between Australia and India will kick off in Perth, from November 22 to 26. The teams will then move to Adelaide Oval for the second Test, a Day/Night game scheduled for December 6 to 10. Following that, the third Test is set for The Gabba in Brisbane, from December 14 to 18. The fourth match will be hosted at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26 to 30, and the series will conclude with the fifth and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, held from January 3 to 7.
