Ishan Kishan has scored 50 runs from three games in IPL 2024 so far.

Kishan was late to a team meeting which led to the unique form of punishment.

Mumbai Indians (MI) wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan and two other players were penalised for being late to a team meeting. There was no fine imposed on the players but they had to sport a cape with a special outfit while travelling.

Main to chahta hu koi dekhe na aur main ud ke chala jau (I hope that no one sees me and I fly away),” Kishan said while sporting the Superman outfit. The video has gone viral on social media.

MI’s poor run

MI are yet to open their win account in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. They have suffered three consecutive defeats under the leadership of Hardik Pandya and are at the bottom of the points table. The all-rounder is being booed in home and away games and his decisions as captain have been under the scanner as well.

Kishan struggles to find form

Kishan has been underwhelming with the bat. He was dismissed for a duck against Gujarat Titans (GT). In the next game he got off to a blazing start scoring 34 runs from just 13 balls but could not convert it into a big score. In MI's home clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR), he contributed to the batting collapse as he lost his wicket to left-arm pacer Nandre Burger after scoring just 16 runs.

MI yet to form a balanced side

MI will go up against Rishabh Pant's Delhi Capitals (DC) in their next clash on April 7 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

MI are missing the services of their star top-order batter Suryakumar Yadav who is yet to regain full fitness after an ankle injury and sports hernia surgery.

MI have been struggling in all departments of the game. Left-arm spinner Shams Mulani has been ineffective. Naman Dhir has shown glimpses of what he can do but has yet to post a big score. Meanwhile, Nehal Wadhera and Mohammad Nabi are warming the bench. Wadhera was impressive in the previous season but failed to make the cut in the first three IPL 2024 matches.
