In a video message posted by SRH on X (formerly known as Twitter), Cummins while reacting after bagging the golden deal said,"Pumped to be joining SRH for the upcoming IPL. I have heard a lot of Orange Army, I have played in Hyderabad a few times and loved it. I cannot wait to get started. Happy to see another Aussie Travis Head. We are going to have a lot of fun this season and hopefully a lot of success."

Meanwhile, Cummins' teammate Mitchell Starc landed a lucrative Rs 24.75 crore deal with Kolkata Knight Riders, setting a new record for the highest bid in the Indian Premier League history. During the 2024 IPL Auction, a vigorous bidding battle unfolded between KKR and the Gujarat Titans to acquire the services of Starc.

The 33-year-old Starc is set to return to the IPL after an eight-year hiatus, having previously been part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Starc and Cummins, who recently led their team to victory against India in Ahmedabad to clinch the ODI Men's Cricket World Cup, have now overtaken Sam Curran's previous record as the most expensive player in IPL history. Curran had secured a deal of Rs 18.50 crore with Punjab Kings for the 2023 IPL season.
