The Australian fast bowler, who recently clinched his second World Cup title, hasn't played in the IPL since 2015. In the past, he has frequently been considered a likely candidate for the most expensive purchase. Now, even at 34 and nearing the twilight of his career, Starc remains a highly sought-after player. Shahrukh Khan (Base Price: ₹40 Lakh)
Punjab Kings' decision to release Shahrukh Khan might be attributed to his recent unremarkable performances in domestic white-ball cricket. It would be quite unexpected if Punjab Kings bid for him again, especially since they had the option to retain him. Nonetheless, Shahrukh Khan is likely to garner attention from several teams in the league. Rachin Ravindra could be a high-value pick in this year's auction, aligning with the current trends. His inclusion in New Zealand's 2023 World Cup squad came about due to Michael Bracewell's injury. Ravindra initially got a chance to showcase his skills in a warm-up game because Will Young was rested, and he only played in the World Cup owing to captain Kane Williamson's unavailability. Fortuitously, all these events worked in his favor, and he seized the opportunity impressively. His adaptability to Indian conditions and his capabilities as a spinner significantly enhance his appeal in the auction.
Wanindu Hasaranga (Base Price: ₹1.5 Crore)
