The CSK franchise is likely to start the training camp for the upcoming season of IPL in the first week of March. The cash-rich tournament will commence from March 31.

The wicketkeeper-batter will return to action in the 16th edition of IPL as he is slated to lead the Yellow Army in yet another season of the cash-rich tournament. The veteran cricketer had begun his preparations for the IPL at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.

Sports Tak had earlier reported that Dhoni worked on his craft in the nets with spending some time in the gym in order to attain supreme fitness. When it comes to net sessions, the CSK captain spent a ton of time batting against the leg-spinners.

The Men in Yellow endured a horrendous season last year in the cash-rich tournament. The season began with Dhoni passing the leadership baton to Ravindra Jadeja and what ensued was a complete disaster. Jadeja led CSK in the first eight matches of the season and the franchise could only register a win in two of those games. Soon after, Jadeja relinquished captaincy and Dhoni was back at the helm.

The poster boy of CSK couldn't weave his magic as the franchise failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Men in Yellow finished the season in the ninth position on the points table after winning just four out of the 14 matches played.
