The Delhi Capitals (DC) have gone to the top of the point’s table dethroning three-time champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) with an easy win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). But, the Rishabh Pant-led squad has suffered a jolt during their first match in the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) when Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis limped out of field with a hamstring injury.

The incident occurred during the 9th over and the all-rounder was unable to continue. The Aussie had to be taken off the field by team’s physio Patrick Farhart. While there has been no official statement from the franchise on the severity of his injury, Shreyas Iyer during the post-match press conference said,

“See, I have no idea about his injury. But, I spoke to him and he looked really fit and happy the way he spoke to me. But, at the end of the day tomorrow or day-after you will come to know from the management.”

The all-rounder had slammed 352 runs and took 13 wickets in the last edition of the IPL. However, he had managed just 71 runs and 2 wickets in the current season.

If the condition is severe, then Stoinis might miss the entire UAE leg of the IPL 2021 and it will also be a worrying factor for Australia right before the T20 World Cup, which begins from October 17.
