MI will face LSG for their fourth match of IPL 2025.

Indian ODI and Test captain Rohit Sharma is currently facing a lot of criticism for his form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain is yet to fire runs from his bat in the marquee event.  In three matches so far, Rohit has scored 0, 8 and 13. Five-time champions MI are currently on sixth in the points table with one win in three games. The Hardik Pandya-led side lost their first two matches against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT). They won their last clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The Mumbai-based franchise will now face the Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants for their fourth clash of the tournament at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

Ahead of the match, a chat between Rohit Sharma and LSG mentor Zaheer Khan has gone viral.  "Jo jab Karna tha, maine kiya barabar se, ab mereko kuch karne ki zarurat nahi hai (Whatever had to be done, I did it properly, now I don't need to do anything)," Rohit Sharma can be heard as telling Zaheer, before Rishabh Pant playfully comes from behind and hugs him.

Rohit is one of the most successful captains in the history of the cash-rich league. MI won five IPL titles under his captaincy, which is the joint most by any franchise. MI has failed to perform in the past few seasons, and the management appointed Hardik Pandya as their new captain before the last season of the tournament. MI won its last IPL title in 2020 defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final.

LSG vs MI head to head

LSG and MI played six IPL matches against each other, where the Lucknow-based franchise holds the edge, winning five clashes, and MI managed to win just one match.
