Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a change to the schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 due to Rama Navami. The match no.19 of the IPL 2025, which was originally set to be played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Sunday, April 6 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, will now be played on April 8. This rescheduling comes after the Kolkata Police Department made a request to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) due to Rama Navami which will be celebrated on April 6.
BCCI moves KKR vs LSG match to April 8
The police cited the need for personnel deployment throughout the city due to upcoming festivities. Authorities recommended that the match be moved to Tuesday, April 8 with a revised start time of 3:30 PM. BCCI has accommodated this request, and the match will now take place on the rescheduled date and time. Notably, the change in KKR versus LSG's schedule won't affect the rest of fixture.
To clarify the changes to the schedule, Sunday, April 6, will now feature a single IPL match. Sunrisers Hyderabad will host the Gujarat Titans at 7:30 PM, as originally planned for Match No. 20. April 8, will become a day with two IPL matches. The rescheduled game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants will take place in Kolkata during the afternoon. This will be followed by the previously scheduled evening match between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings (Match No. 22) in New Chandigarh.
