Story Highlights:

CSK issued a special advisory requesting fans not to carry political banners, flags or hoardings to the stadium.

The guideline came shortly after Vijay became the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu following TVK’s election success.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their upcoming IPL 2026 clash on Sunday, May 10 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Ruturaj Gaikwad and Co. will look to give their level best to secure the win as the race to playoffs intensified in the recent days.

Chennai Super Kings makes special request to fans

Ahead of the key clash at Chepauk, CSK released a guideline on social media asking fans to celebrate the sport and avoid bringing banners, flags and hoardings related to any political party to maintain a peaceful yet festive atmosphere at the venue, which is the typical trademark of Chennai's crowd.

"Come celebrate cricket and the spirit of the game with us. Anbuden request our superfans to avoid bringing banners, flags or hoardings associated with any political party/person and enjoy the game with full yellove," wrote CSK on social media.

Reason behind advisory?

The guideline was issued soon after actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay emerged as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu after the electoral success of his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). After serious political discussions and alliance developments, TVK found success in forming the government in the state. Vijay is set to take oath as Chief Minister on Sunday, May 10.

CSK's current status in points table

Currently, CSK stands at sixth place with 10 points in hand after playing 10 matches in the tournament at a net run rate of +0.151. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side will meet Rishabh Pant's LSG in their upcoming game on May 10.

However, things will get more interesting after the result of the game, as LSG looks like a side who is aiming to spoil the other team's party.
