Australian all-rounder Cameron Green finally found form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Rs 25.20 recruit scored 79 runs from 55 balls while most batters registered low scores at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. But, once again, Green did not bowl against Gujarat Titans (GT). After the five-wicket defeat, skipper Ajinkya Rahane revealed that Green suffered cramps and couldn’t bowl.
“He was actually struggling with his cramps. That's the reason he was in and out on the field as well. So that's the reason he didn't bowl,” Rahane said in the post-match presentation.

Green arrived at the crease after KKR lost two wickets -- Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Then, in the fourth over, Kagiso Rabada dismissed Tim Seifert as well. The Australian struggled in the powerplay overs and managed to score just six runs from 12 deliveries. He made up for the dot deliveries in the middle overs. In the 13th over, Green hit two sixes off Ashok Sharma and reached his maiden fifty for KKR from 34 balls.

Green took down Rashid Khan and had a reprieve when Washington Sundar dropped his catch. KKR lost plenty of wickets in the slog overs and Green didn't get much strike leading to him struggling for big shots again. In the last over, Jos Buttler missed the stumping but off the next ball, he got caught behind by the Englishman off Rashid's bowling. He hit seven fours and four sixes in his 55-ball 77 which helped KKR post 180 on the board.
Rahane praises Green’s impactful knock
Rahane lauded Green for going after the bowlers after KKR was put under the pump early by GT bowlers.
“Cameron Green's innings, he was under pressure, but the kind of counter-attack he did, positive impact, what he made was amazing to see, going after their bowlers,” Rahane said.
Still winless face RR in next encounter
This was KKR's fifth defeat in six games. They are still at the bottom of the points table with just one point which they got from a washed out game against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Now, every game is a must-win for KKR. They go up against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at home on April 19.
