Adil Rashid becomes no.1 T20I bowler in ICC's latest rankings, Varun Chakravarthy jumps 25 spots to make place in top 5 but Sanju Samson slips big

Sanju Samson who has been struggling to counter the England pacers, slipped 12 places to the 29th spot in the ICC T20I batter rankings.

Babar Azam has slipped three places in ICC Test batter rankings after his struggles at home continued.

England leg-spinner Adil Rashid who has been economical in the ongoing three-T20I series has been rewarded for his performance as he reclaimed the top spot in ICC T20I bowler rankings. Rashid dethroned West Indies' left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein to reach the summit. 

India's mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy has stormed to the fifth spot after taking 10 wickets in the series including a five-wicket haul in losing cause in third T20I. Chakravarthy jumped 25 places and is closely followed by England pacer Jofra Archer who moved up 13 places to occupy sixth spot. Before the third T20I, Archer had registered his worst spell in the format conceding 60 runs.

There is one more chance in top 10 as leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has slipped five places to 10th spot. Left-arm spinner Axar Patel is right behind him as he gained five places to reach 11th place. Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh who missed the third T20I to make way for Mohammed Shami remained at the eighth spot.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah who hasn't played a single T20I since T20 World Cup 2024 final slipped four places to 40th spot.

Samson slips big, Abhishek's giant leap

In the ICC T20I batter rankings, Indian opener Sanju Samson slipped 12 places to 29th spot. His opening partner Abhishek Sharma jumped as many as 59 places to reach 40th position. There were a few changes in the top 10. 

Under-performing England opener Phil Salt lost one place and is now at third position. Tilak Varma who scored a match-winning fifty in second T20I is now the second-placed batter. Varma will have a chance to dethrone Australia's Travis Head in the next two games. Yashasvi Jaiswal who isn't part of the T20I series lost one place and is currently at the ninth position. As a result, Pakistan T20I captain Mohammad Rizwan moved up one place to eighth position.

Babar drops further in Test rankings

In the ICC Test batter rankings, Australia's stand-in captain Steve Smith, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant moved up one place each to eighth and ninth respectively as Pakistan's Saud Shakeel slipped to no.10. Babar Azam's lean patch at home continued leading to him losing three spots and take the 19th spot. Rizwan was rewarded for his gritty knocks and gained two places to take the 15th spot.

Noman, Warrican climb up

Pakistan's hat-trick hero, left-arm spinner Noman Ali jumped four places to make his place in top five. West Indies' Jomel Warrican who was adjudged 'Player of the series' climbed up 16 places to reach 25th position. The top spot still belongs to Bumrah.
