Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued his record spree in the ongoing India U-19 tour of England tour. The 14-year-old batting sensation from Bihar once again etched his name in the record books, this time in the first Youth Test between Under-19 teams of India and England. Suryavanshi, who had previously impressed with his batting in the ODI series, has now achieved a remarkable feat with the ball.

On the final delivery of the 45th over, the left-arm orthodox spinner bowled a low full toss which the English batter Sheikh attempted to loft over long-off. However, Henil Patel executed a stunning catch, securing Suryavanshi's first-ever wicket in Youth Test cricket.

This achievement has made Suryavanshi the youngest Indian cricketer to ever take a wicket in the history of Youth Tests. The previous record for India was held by Manishi, who dismissed South Africa's Marco Johnson back in 2019. On the international stage, the overall world record belongs to Pakistan's Mahmood Malik, who achieved this feat at the age of just 13 years and 241 days when he took a wicket against New Zealand in 1994.

Despite his notable achievement with the ball Suryavanshi's contribution with the bat in the first innings of the Youth Test was not as impactful. He managed to score 14 runs off 13 deliveries, including three boundaries, before being dismissed by Alex Green.

In the first innings of the match, India batted first and posted a colossal total of 540 runs riding on due to a brilliant century from captain Ayush Mhatre, who scored 102 runs and Abhigyan Kundu's 90. In response, the England Under-19 are 391/8 103.2 overs.

Prior to this Test match, Suryavanshi had displayed exceptional form in the Under-19 ODI series against England. He emerged as the leading run-scorer in the series, accumulating an impressive 355 runs across five matches.
