Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria expressed his jubilation on social media ahead of the much-awaited Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony taking place in Ayodhya on January 22, Monday. Kaneria, a member of the Hindu minority in Pakistan, shared his excitement on his X account with a post captioned 'Jai Shree Ram'.
The post included a video of him visiting a Hindu temple in Houston, Texas, USA, where he joined in the celebrations with numerous devotees. The event outside the temple was marked by festive fireworks, commemorating the ceremony. Accompanied by his wife, Kaneria voiced his joy over the historic moment, acknowledging the significance of the day.
Kaneria wasn't the only international cricketer to acknowledge and celebrate the Pran Pratishtha ceremony. South African cricketer Keshav Maharaj, also of Hindu faith, shared his well-wishes for the ceremony in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Maharaj, currently participating in the SA20 league for Durban Super Giants, conveyed a message of peace and harmony through a video on his social media.
"Namaste evervone. I just want to wish my Indian community in South Africa for the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya tomorrow. May be there peace, harmony and spiritual enlightenment to all. Jai Shree Rams" Keshav Maharaj said in the video.
Additionally, Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was present in Ayodhya for the ceremony, with his arrival capturing significant attention. Similarly, a photograph of Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja arriving at the ceremony site also circulated widely on social media. Former Indian cricketers Anil Kumble and Venkatesh Prasad were among the early attendees in Ayodhya, arriving a day before the event.
This ceremony, attracting prominent figures from the cricketing world, underscores the cultural and spiritual significance of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha. It reflects the deep connection and reverence that individuals, irrespective of their national identities, hold for their religious beliefs and traditions.
