According to a report in ESPNCricinfo, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will now share revenue of around 40 percent of the total earnings of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in the proposed model for the 2024-27 cycle. If the reports are true, then the Indian cricket board will earn significantly more than its competitors England Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket Australia (CA). The BCCI is slated to bag a whopping sum of Rs 7,600 crore from ICC's revenue in the next four years (2024-2027). On the flip side, Pakistan are likely to earn Rs 1,100 crores.

ICC's new plan

The new financial plan of ICC is based on four factors. These include the board's contribution to the ICC's revenue, historical membership with the ICC, on-field performance over the past 20 years in men's and women's competitions, and the progress of domestic cricket. Under the four aforementioned parameters, it is believed that BCCI provides the highest revenue to ICC when compared to other cricket boards around the world. As a result, the Indian cricket board is slated to earn significantly more than the other boards.

BCCI to earn 7,600 crore

According to the report, BCCI will now get 38.5 percent of ICC's revenue every year, which accounts for approximately $230 million (approx Rs 1,900 crores) every year for the next four years. The ECB is set to earn 6.89 percent of the ICC's earnings while the Australian Cricket Board will account for 6.25 percent of the ICC's earnings.

The distribution

It is estimated that ICC is set to earn revenue to the tune of $600 million every year for the next four years. Out of the ICC's earnings, the Indian cricket board will get $230 million every year while England will get $41.33 million (approx Rs 339 crore) and Australia will get $37.53 million (approx Rs 307 crore).

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will get $34.51 million (approx 283 crores) every year. The remaining eight countries that are full-time members of the ICC will get less than five percent of the revenue of the ICC. Out of the ICC's $600 million earnings, $532.84 million will be distributed among 12 nations that are full-time members. The remaining $67.16 million will be distributed among the Associate Nations.
