Star India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant on January 06 (Friday) underwent successful surgery for a ligament tear on his right knee he sustained during the horrific car crash. Sports Tak has learned that the surgery was carried out on Friday afternoon by a team of doctors led by Dr. Pardiwala at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. Pant has responded well to the treatment and will remain under observation for three-four days.

The star Indian cricketer sustained gruesome injuries in a devastating car crash on December 30, 2022. According to an earlier medical report released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the 25-year-old sustained "two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back."

As things stand right now, Pant is likely to be sidelined for at least four to six months. If reports are to be believed, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials are hoping that the swashbuckling batter will recover from his injuries just in the nick of time to be available for World Test Championship (WTC) final which is scheduled to be played in June.
