Women's Asia Cup 2024 schedule announced: The high-voltage India vs Pakistan clash will be played on July 21. Eight teams will participate in the tournament.

India have won the Women's Asia Cup seven times.

The Asian Cricket Council on March 26 announced the schedule for Women's Asia Cup 2024 which will be hosted by Sri Lanka in July, a few months ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The tournament will kick off with defending champions India taking on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on July 19. 
 

Eight teams will participate in the Women's Asia Cup 2024. The teams have been divided into two groups. Group A includes India, Pakistan, UAE, and Nepal. The Group B has Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Thailand. The high-voltage India and Pakistan match is scheduled to be played on July 21.
 

The top two teams from each group will play in the semifinal clashes on July 26. The final will be played on July 28. 
 

"The increased participation promises to make this tournament even more competitive and thrilling for cricket fans across the region. In line with the ACC's vision for inclusivity and equality in cricket, the Women's Asia Cup 2024 will continue the tradition of having all female referees and umpires, following the successful implementation of the same in the previous edition,' the ACC said in a statement.

India's dominance in Asia Cup

India have been the most dominant team in the history of the Asia Cup. India are seven-time champions of the tournament. In 2018, Bangladesh managed to end India's winning streak in Malaysia with a thrilling win off the last ball of the final. In the previous edition, India restored their dominance with an easy eight-wicket win over Sri Lanka in Bangladesh.
