After his condition worsened on Saturday night, former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli had to be admitted to the hospital for yet another health crisis. The former Indian star, who has struggled with several health concerns in recent years, recently made a rare public appearance at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, where Ramakant Achrekar's statue was unveiled.
Kambli admitted to Thane hospital
According to an IANS report, Kambli was admitted to Akriti Hospital in Thane. Although the 52-year-old is reportedly stable, his condition is still critical. There is no detailed information about Kambli's issue and condition yet.
India's 1983 World Cup-winning team came out in Kambli's support when his health issues were made public during the event earlier this month. Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev both expressed their desire to assist Kambli, but they made it clear that Kambli would need to start rehabilitation.
Kambli on his health conditions
In a recent conversation, Kambli talked candidly about his health issues, revealing that he was hospitalized a month ago due to a urinary issue.
"I was suffering from a urine problem. It was just flowing. My son, Jesus Cristiano, picked me up and brought me back to my feet. My daughter, who is 10 years old, and my wife came to help me. This happened one month ago. My head started spinning; I collapsed and fell down. The doctor told me to get admitted," said Kambli in an interaction on Vicky Lalwani's YouTube channel.
Kambli also stated that Sachin Tendulkar provided him with financial assistance for the two heart procedures he had in 2013. Over the course of a nine-year career, Kambli played 104 ODIs and 17 Test matches for India. He scored two double hundreds and four hundreds for India in Test cricket. He scored consecutive double hundreds, making him the first Indian to do so.
