Arsenal teen-sensation Max Dowman has created a new record against Slavia Prague on Tuesday, November 4, as he became the youngest player ever to feature in the UEFA Champions League.

The academy talent became the first 15-year-old to get featured in the competition when he entered the pitch as a substitute against Slavia Prague.
Dowman made his Premier League debut earlier this season, was an untouched substitute for Arsenal's first two UCL games against Athletic Club and Olympiacos. He was given his shot in Czechia, though, replacing Leandro Trossard for the last 17 minutes.
Arsenal had opened up a 3-0 lead when Dowman entered along with Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ben White in a triple change. Bukayo Saka started the scoring after scoring a penalty and Mikel Merino doubled the visitors' lead early in the second half before completing his brace in the 68th minute of the game.
Another Arsenal teenager, Andre Harriman-Annous, was later introduced from the bench, after giving an impressive performance in his senior team debut against Brighton in the Carabao Cup.
Going into the 2025/26 season, former Borussia Dortmund player Youssoufa Moukoko was the youngest player to appear in the Champions League. The German forward was 16 years and 18 days old at the time, but Dowman will not turn 16 until New Year's eve.
Injury woes for Arsenal
Arsenal were missing several stars in the Czech capital. Viktor Gyokers, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Martin Odegaard and Noni Madoueke all missed the game because of injuries, while Martin Zubimendi was suspended for the clash.
Arteta singled out Dowman and Hariman-Annous following a fourth round win against Brighton in which both made their first competitive starts.
