Donald Trump has congratulated FIFA president Gianni Infantino on the 2026 World Cup ticket sales, marking a milestone for the expanded 48-team tournament hosted across the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
With the FIFA leader asserting massive demand; over 508 million ticket requests received in just weeks for roughly 7 million available seats across more than 200 countries, it has impressed the US President, who is all praise for the FIFA president.
FIFA president Infantino receives huge praise from Trump on World Cup ticket sales
Trump delivered a historic address at the inaugural “Board of Peace” meeting in Washington, D.C. While congratulating Infantino, he said:
“Your World Cup has set every single ticket record in the history of soccer.”
The 47th president of the United States continued:
“Nobody’s ever seen anything like it. The sales are virtually complete.”
Trump further said:
“So congratulations. You made a good decision. We did it together. Thank You Gianni (Infantino). Great guy. Your World Cup has set every single ticket.”
Meanwhile, the FIFA World Cup is slated to take place at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium on July 19. Mexico’s team will play in the inaugural match, while Team USA is scheduled to debut on Friday, June 12, in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium against Paraguay.
