Ford has now won four straight NASCAR Cup Series races.

On Sunday, 15th September, Chris Buescher's win at Watkins Glens was a significant one as Ford has now won four straight NASCAR Cup Series races. It's the first time since 2018 that a manufacturer has been on a four-race win streak. A win this week would help achieve Ford a major feat in the Next-gen era that began back in 2022. They have managed to win five races on the trot in NASCAR's newest Cup car.

What all happened for Chris Buescher at Watkins Glen?

The driver for Ford, Chris Buescher leapfrogged Shane Van Gisbergen on the last lap to clinch his sixth win of his entire career and first of this season. It all started three weeks ago when Harrison Burton won his first career race at Daytona. In the following race at Darlington, Chase Briscoe got his hands on the trophy. Last week in Atlanta, Joey Logano continued Ford's dominance by taking the first spot.  It was in 2018 when Ford went on a five-race winning streak from August to September.

It started with Kevin Harvick winning in Michigan. The next week Kurt Busch won at Bristol. It was then the turn of Brad Keselowski, who won three races starting at Darlington. He then went on to win at Indianapolis and Las Vegas as Vegas was the race from where the playoffs began.

Ford eyeing third straight NASCAR Cup Series this season

In the first two years of the Next Gen era, Ford maintained their dominance as Joey Logano won his second career Cup title in 2022. He won four races and had 11 top-five and 17 top-tens. Ryan Blaney, his teammate won his first championship last year and had three victories to his name.

Six drivers are taking part in the playoffs this season for Ford. Having won at Atlanta, Logano has a guaranteed spot in the Round of 12. Austin Cindric sees himself third in playoff standings with 43 points above the cut-line. Blaney and Briscoe are also secured and are placed above the cut-off line.

Meanwhile, Brad Keselowski and Harrison Burton are placed below the cut-line and are in striking distance. The upcoming race will be the last before Round of 12 at the Bristol Motor Speedway in the 500-lap Night Race.
