Shami became the fourth bowler after Mitchell Starc, Andre Nel, and Brett Lee to take a fifer against New Zealand in World Cups. For India, the best bowling figures against the Kiwis were registered by Zaheer with 4/42 in the 2003 edition of the tournament.
