Ahead of a vital clash with India in Group B, Scotland captain Kyle Coetzer recalled the time he spent with India’s newly elected head coach Rahul Dravid.

Coetzer recalled the time when Dravid played for English Saltires and the Scottish captain was also part of that team. Dravid in 2003 played a solid knock of 114 for the team while Coetzer was run-out on the very first ball. In a recent interaction, the captain reflected on his memories with Dravid, stating how humble the Indian batting icon is. Dravid played 11 games in that season and smashed 600 runs.

“We were involved in a run-out, and I was the person who was run out and he wasn’t. I think that was fair enough considering that he was the mainstay of the Scotland team then and making sure that he performed well and scored runs. So, I remember the day pretty clearly. I got a clear ‘no’ and got sent back,” said Coetzer as quoted by Cricwick.

'Every one of these games was going to be important’
With their chances of semifinals still hanging by a thin rope, India will again go for broke when they resume their battle for survival in the T20 World Cup in another must-win contest against Scotland. The Scottish captain has highlighted the team's preparation against the Indian team.
“I think coming up against a side like India just throws things to a new level. The boys are really looking forward to it. The fixture is one that’s sort of been highlighted a while ago, but we also knew that every one of these games was going to be important,” added Coetzer.
