KL Rahul needs 50 more runs to beat Virat Kohli and become 1st batter to achieve this feat against Mumbai Indians

Delhi Capitals' (DC) KL Rahul has been in stupendous form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. After a match-winning unbeaten 93 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at his homeground, M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, he has set sight on milestone against Mumbai Indians (MI).
 

Rahul needs 50 more runs to become first batter to score 1,000 runs against five-time IPL champions MI. Rahul has 950 runs from just 18 innings against MI at an average of 79.16, including three centuries and six fifties.
 

He is closely followed by RCB's Virat Kohli who has 922 runs from 33 innings at an average of 31.79, including six fifties. In the previous game, Kohli scored 67 runs from 42 balls as RCB beat MI by 12 runs in high-scoring encounter at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
 

Rahul and Kohli are followed by former players Shikhar Dhawan (901 runs), Suresh Raina (824 runs). Among current batters, Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) Manish Pandey (796 runs), Ajinkya Rahane (723 runs) and Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) MS Dhoni (768 runs) are next on the list. However, they are unlikely to break the 1,000-run barrier.
 

Rahul will have a chance to script history at DC's original homeground, Arun Jaitley Stadium. The clash against MI on April 13 will be DC's first game in Delhi this season.
 

However, Rahul does not have a good record at Arun Jaitley Stadium in the IPL. He has played for three different franchises -- Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), Lucknow Super GIants (LSG) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the venue. He has scored 40 runs from three innings. 
 

Rahul is currently, DC's leading run-scorer in the season. He has scored 185 runs from three innings. His strike rate has soared up to 169.72. After missing the first clash due to birth of his first child, he contributed with a cameo against SRH. Then, he scored 77 runs against CSK.
