IPL 2025 mega auction's start time rescheduled
In a recent turn of event, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly adjusted the start time of the mega auction in order to avoid overlapping of the auction and the ongoing India versus Australia's first Test. This change is expected to accommodate the global audience and ensure maximum viewership for the event.
The scheduling of the IPL 2025 mega auction is clashing with the of Border-Gavaskar Trophy's Perth Test. The first Test kicked off from November 22 and will be played till November 26, while the two-day auction was initially planned for November 24 and 25.
To accommodate the extended playing hours of the Perth Test, which often finishes at 3:20 PM IST, the BCCI has decided to delay the start of the IPL auction from 3 PM IST to 3:30 PM IST. This adjustment aims to ensure that cricket fans can follow both events without any major conflicts.
The upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction will be a historic event, marking the first time it will be held outside India. Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will host the bidding war for the upcoming season. This will be the second time an IPL auction has been held outside India, with the IPL 2024 mini-auction taking place in Dubai.
