Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are currently in Chennai for their upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which is scheduled to take place on March 28 at MA Chidarmbaram Stadium. Ahead of the high-voltage clash of the cash-rich-league, former CSK stars  Ambati Rayudu and S Badrinath took a brutal dig at RCB's trophy drought.

A video is going viral on social media where both former CSK stars engaged in a fun-filled discussion where they humorously discussed RCB’s long-standing trophy drought and whether it would finally end this year.

During the discussion, Badrinath humorously asked Rayudu will RCB would be able to break their jinx this year. Both cricketers started laughing and Rayudu said that he has always enjoyed watching RCB struggle to win the title, and while he hopes they eventually succeed, he would rather not see it happen this year. He then took a brutal dig, suggesting that the IPL needs a team like RCB that continuously builds expectations but fails to deliver, making the tournament even more entertaining. Here is the clip.

“Purely as a fan, and as someone who had really good laughter at them over the years because of what they do to themselves, I would want them to win sometime, but not this year, maybe. We want CSK to do well and win it this year. In the end, we need someone like RCB in the IPL (laughs),” Rayudu said.

Both RCB and CSK won their opener clash of the tournament. Chennai defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) in their first match of the tournament, and RCB defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their tournament opener.

RCB vs CSK head to head

RCB and CSK played 33 matches against each other where Chennai holds the edge by winning 21 matches. RCB managed to win 11 matches, and one match between CSK and RCB ended without a result. CSK and RCB last faced each other in a do-or-die clash of the IPL 2024, where the Bengaluru-based franchise defeated Chennai by 24 runs at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
