Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh lavished praise on Lucknow Super Giants star Nicholas Pooran after his 70 run knock against Suriseries Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League 2025 clash at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The World Cup-winning star labelled Pooran as the best T20 player of the present scenario. 

Pooran is in the form of his life. The WIndies star smashed 70(26) while chasing 191 against SRH as the Super Giants sealed a 5-wicket win in Hyderabad. After Pooran's impressive performance, Harbhajan Singh took his 'X' formerly known as Twitter to label Pooran as the best T20 format player.

"Currently Nicholas Pooran is the best player of T20 format. Period!" Harbhajan wrote on X.

 

 

After defeating SRH, LSG managed to register their first win in the ongoing IPL 2025. The franchise lost their opener clash against Delhi Capitals. Despite LSG's loss, Pooran was the standout performer of the clash as he slammed 75 from 30 deliveries. Pooran is currently the Orange Cap holder in the ongoing 18th edition of the tournament. He has 145 runs to his name in two matches, with a staggering average of 72.50 while striking ferociously at 258.92.

Pooran also becomes the second player after KL Rahul to cross the 1000-run mark for the Lucknow Super Giants. He reached this milestone in 31 innings, averaging 45.54 with a stellar strike rate of 184.53. Whereas KL Rahul scored 1410 for LSG in 38 matches. LSG will now face Punjab Kings for their third IPL clash, which will take place at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on April 1.
