The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice president Rajeev Shukla took his social media post to laud Virat Kohli's fan following after the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 opener clash between Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens Kolkata.

Rajeev Shukla took his 'X' formerly known as Twitter and reacted to a clip of a fan who breached security in the IPL 2025 opener clash in Kolkata.

"Amazing fan following of Virat Kohli" posted Rajeeb Shukla.

The incident happened during the second inning of the first match of the IPL when Virat Kohli was batting and completed his half-century. Fan came inside the ground breaching security and bowed down to his idol in awe and respect. He also touched Kohli's feet before the security officials escorted him out of the ground.

Coming back to the KKR vs RCB clash, Kohli played an unbeaten 59-run knock that helped RCB to register a seven-wicket win against defending champions KKR. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will now face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 28 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
