Kagiso Rabada becomes fifth highest wickettaker for South Africa in Test.

Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj and Wiaan Mulder's individual three-wicket hauls helped South Africa to register a dominating seven wicket win against Bangladesh at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. Visitors who were leading by 81 runs on 3 got bundled out 304 runs. SA who scored 308 in the first inning were trailing by 105 runs.

While chasing the target of 106 runs, South Africa openers Tony de Zorzi and Aiden Markram scored 41 and 20 runs respectively before Taijul Islam clean-bowled skipper Markram.

With this dominating win, Kagiso Rabada created history as he went past Morne Morkel to become Proteas' fifth-highest international wicket-taker in international cricket.

Rabada achieved this milestone during the first Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka. In the second innings, he recorded impressive figures of 6/46 from 17.5 overs, claiming the wickets of Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Nayeem Hasan.

With this performance, Rabada has now taken 536 wickets in 231 international matches, just surpassing Morkel's tally of 535. His bowling average stands at 24.18, with best figures of 7/112. Throughout his career, he has achieved 20 four-wicket hauls, 17 five-wicket hauls, and four ten-wicket hauls.

The record for the most international wickets for South Africa is held by the legendary all-rounder Shaun Pollock, who took 823 wickets in 414 matches, averaging 23.63 with a best performance of 7/87. Pollock's career includes 35 four-wicket hauls, 21 five-wicket hauls, and a ten-wicket haul.

In the first innings against Bangladesh, Rabada became the sixth South African bowler to reach 300 Test wickets, accomplishing this in just 11,817 deliveries, making it the fastest by any bowler. He currently boasts a total of 308 Test wickets, having taken 3/26 in the first innings over 11 overs.

Before Rabada's impressive 9 wickets for 72 runs in this match, the last South African pacer to take eight or more wickets in a Test in Asia was Dale Steyn, who recorded 9/99 against Sri Lanka in Galle back in 2014, which was also their last Test victory in the Indian subcontinent.
