India's legendary cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni found himself in a big trouble as an FIR has been registered against him and seven others in Begusarai, Bihar on Monday.
The FIR has been lodged in a case relating to cheque bounce by New Global Produce India Limited.
Reportedly, a company named SK Enterprises has filed an FIR in Begusarai's CJM's court, alleging that a cheque worth Rs 30 lakhs, which they received from 'New Global Produce India Limited' got bounced.
Dhoni had promoted the New Global Produce India Limited and thus his name is also mentioned in the FIR. On Monday after the court hearing, the case has been sent to Judicial Magistrate Ajay Kumar Mishra. The next hearing of the case will take place on June 28.
SK Enterprises had placed an order for fertilisers with the New Global Produce India Limited, which is a brand promoted by former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. New Global delivered the product on schedule, but SK Enterprises alleged that they did not adhere to the rules and regulations as well as the quality of the product was not what they had expected.
A settlement was reached between the two sides in which New Global offered to pay back ₹30 lacs for retracting the sold product. A cheque containing the mentioned amount was sent to Neeraj Kumar Nirala of SK Enterprises who went to the bank with the cheque only to find out that the cheque could not be deposited due to an insufficient balance in the account of crediting party.
This led Neeraj to seek legal help, and he filed an FIR against the 7 members of New Global India Produce Limited and MS Dhoni. He claimed that Dhoni had misled him and others by promoting the product.
