England teammates refuse to rule Jordan Henderson out of World Cup

Henderson sustained the injury in unusual fashion after England's thrilling 3-2 victory over co-hosts Mexico in the Round of 16. While celebrating the win at the Azteca Stadium, the midfielder tumbled over a digital advertising board and fractured his wrist, later requiring surgery.

The setback appeared to end Henderson's hopes of playing another part in England's World Cup campaign, especially with only a handful of matches remaining. Despite that, Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers insisted the midfielder is not giving up on returning before the end of the tournament.

"I think hopefully he can still be involved with us going for the rest of the tournament."

Rogers also praised Jordan Henderson's mentality and influence within the England squad, adding:

"He's not going to rule himself out... He's the heartbeat of the group."

Although Henderson has played just six minutes at the World Cup so far, his leadership and experience continue to be viewed as invaluable within Thomas Tuchel's dressing room.

Dan Burn jokes about Henderson's injury ahead of Norway clash

Newcastle United defender Dan Burn also shared an update on Henderson's recovery while humorously claiming responsibility for the freak accident.

"I think I killed him a bit because I made it look really easy when I jumped over."

Burn revealed the squad immediately realized the injury was serious when Jordan Henderson failed to get back on his feet following the celebration.

"He's had his op now, and hopefully they're still up for him to play in the tournament."
