Will Lionel Messi play against Cavalier FC in CONCACAF Champions Cup?

Lionel Messi has not featured in the last three games for Inter Miami as he was an unused substitute in their 1-0 win over Charlotte FC last weekend. But Javier Mascherano has confirmed that Messi will travel with the squad to Jamaica.

While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Mascherano revealed that Lionel Messi took full participation in the training as his match fitness will be evaluated before the kick-off of the match.

Leo Messi will travel with us to Jamaica. Tomorrow, we'll decide whether he starts or comes off the bench. He trained very well this morning, completed the entire session with the team, and the feelings are good, Mascherano said ahead of the match.

Looking at the current rhythm of the squad, it looks like Mascherano might choose to preserve Messi’s minutes for the upcoming clashes. This strategy will enable Inter Miami’s coach Javier Mascherano to deploy Messi’s talents efficiently while looking after the team’s overall harmony and effectiveness.

However, Lionel Messi will start in the game against Cavalier FC but his position, either as starter or reserve will determine before the kick-off.
